In the summer of 2023, the City of Toronto had a mayoral by-election. The team at the award-winning publication The Local approached me to illustrate this "dawn of a new day" for Toronto.
There was a digital tracker of candidates, as well as a physical booklet that was available at all Toronto Public Library locations.
Below you'll find the illustration and animation I did for the online tracker of the election, as well as the printed book I designed containing all the candidate information published by The Local. The animation is shows a sunrise over Toronto's City Hall, symbolizing the possibility of a new era under new leadership.
