Sitlo Coffee is created by Nguyen Food Stall, a Toronto food influencer and blogger. Sitlo Coffee's mission is to bring the unique flavours of Vietnamese coffee to the specialty coffee world, and I had the opportunity to work on their packaging!
The name "Sitlo" is derived from the phonetic sound of the Vietnamese "xich lo", a rickshaw used throughout the country. I wanted to capture a relaxing scene of coffee and street culture in Vietnam, with the "xich lo" in sight.
The boxes that the coffee and other items are delivered were kept simple with an illustrated label and a neutral tape with large type.
The logomark also includes and illustration of a xich lo, futher reinforcing the phonetic spelling of the brand. The illustration can be used independently as well and there are a few different variations on how it is combined with typography depending on the use.
In addition to the personalized packaging, I also worked on a set of step-by-step illustrations for Sitlo's brew guide. These illustrations instructed customers how to brew their new beans with the phin filter.
