Canada Ireland Foundation hosted a black-tie fundraising event at Fairmont Royal York, The Wilde Party, inspired by none other than the legendary Oscar Wilde. It was a night of cultural celebration and philanthropy to honour Oscar Wilde’s timeless genius while supporting Canada Ireland Foundation.
The Canada Ireland Foundation mentioned they were really inspired by the art nouveau look and feel. I wanted it to feel contemporary and minimal, so drawing inspiration from art nouveau I created a clean, geometric floral frame modelled after the green carnation. This flower was intentionally embedded into the design, as Wilde himself historically wore the green carnation as a discreet symbol of his sexuality.
Each table was named after Oscar Wilde's work, whether in short stories, poetry, or fairytales. I used the same ornate border on these assets as well, and included a small illustration to represent each body of work. Each card has a slightly varying colour palette to create distinction. I embedded the QR code into the frame which allows guests to donate with ease.
Let's make magic together!
